Cairns, John

John Cairns (active 1845-70) was an Edinburgh based painter in oils. His work focused on the Firth of Clyde,  North East Scotland and Holland. Cairns exhibited regularly at the RSA between 1845 and 1867. His work is held today in Dundee Museums and Art Galleries, Salford Museums and the Royal Collections Trust.  His view of Brodwick (Brodick) Bay was created in 1851.
