Macpherson, Alexander

Alexander Macpherson (1904-1970) was a Scottish painter who trained at Glasgow School of Art.


He worked in Glasgow and exhibited mainly in Scotland at the RSW of which in 1932 he became an elected member. He also exhibited at the RSA, RA, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, SSA and the GI. His work is represented in the collection of Bradford Art Gallery. He often painted the West Coast of Scotland and Arran and he combined pencil, ink and watercolours in his works. Examples of his work are in Glasgow Art Gallery and Paisley Art Gallery.
