Peake, John Nash
John Nash Peake (1837 - 1905), was a member of a wealthy English potteries family.
Predominantly a landscape artist, one of his paintings, The Isle of Arran (1899) shows Brodick Bay with Goatfell behind. Brodick beach looks idyllic, complete with golden sands and a few discrete bathing huts - very different from the Brodick beach of today.
This painting is now in the Potteries Museum and Arts Gallery.
