Wylie, James M
There is little information regarding the work of James Wylie who worked during the mid-20th century. He is not to be confused with the artist Jim Wylie, an Ayrshire based graduate of Glasgow School of Art.
James Wylie's work, which can be found in the collections of North Ayrshire Heritage Museum, largely depicts urban scenes or landscapes in The Three towns area of North Ayrshire (Ardrossan, Stevenston and Saltcoats). His 1959 painting 'Glen Rosa' is fairly atypical of his work with a competent if unadventurous, depiction of the landscape.
